Dr. Godwin Maduka of Umuchukwu, Nigeria, founded the Las Vegas Pain Institute & Medical Center, where he currently stands as the CEO and Medical Director. He is still active with his the community in his hometown, providing more than 50 bungalows and 100 motorcycles for residents and supporting education and vocational training for young people. Dr. Godwin Maduka’s philanthropy facilitated the town’s acquisition of its first Catholic priest. His projects include funding a civic center, a church, a police station, a college, and a hospital. Nigeria’s United Action Against Corruption And Injustice International designated Dr. Godwin Maduka as an Incorruptible Icon in Africa in 2009. Currently holding more than 27 years of higher education, training, and experience in the pain management field, Dr. Godwin Maduka’s academic career began in Holly Springs, Mississippi, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Rust College. At the Mercer University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Atlanta, Dr. Godwin Maduka specialized in pharmaceutics; biopharmaceutics, and pharmacokinetics. He received a Doctor of Pharmacy from the school in 1988. Dr. Godwin Maduka garnered his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He completed a residency and post-graduate work at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School. During his time at Beth Israel, Dr. Godwin Maduka gave a presentation on protamine reactions in a lecture series for fellow residents. He specialized in anesthesiology, critical care, and acute and chronic pain management during his residency at Harvard.
